This 1980 Ferrari 400i is a Marrone over tan example that shows just 37,706 miles and was originally imported to the US by a Mr. Maling. In 1989, the car was sold to Mr. and Mrs. Schiffman in Roseburg, Oregon, where it resided under their care through 2016. Over the last several years, the Schiffmans kept this 400i in dry storage until its recent acquisition by the selling dealer. The factory 4.8-liter V12 is paired to an automatic transmission and reportedly turns freely, though it does not run. The seller states that items such as the fuel tank, lines, distributors, pump, warm-up regulators, brake system, and more will need to be inspected and/or repaired prior to any road use. This Ferrari is now being offered as a project with a clean Texas title.

The seller states that Marrone is the original color, and the finish is said to remain in good driver-quality condition with a few flaws shown in the extensive photo gallery below. The Pininfarina body is stamped with #524 on the front and rear bonnets, and the seller reports that all glass and exterior trim appear to be original. 15″ Cromodora wheels are missing two center caps as highlighted in the photo gallery below. They are shod in 240/55 series Michelin TRX tires all around. The tan leather interior features brown inserts on the seats and a black center console with wood inserts, accented by original brown carpeting throughout.

Equipment includes air conditioning and a period Pioneer AM/FM Cassette radio. The leather dashboard shows well in these pictures, and 37,607 miles displayed on the odometer are correct according to the seller. The naturally-aspirated 4.8-liter V12 is said to turn freely. After the car was removed from longterm dry storage, an inspection was performed. It recommended that the fuel injection system be flushed and rebuilt along with the fuel pump. A compression test performed on August 16, 2016 showed 160, 160, 160, 160, 145, 150, 175, 130, 170, 175, 170, and 175 psi in cylinders 1-12, respectively.

Engine number F101 C010 00256 is original to this chassis according to the seller. Other factory stampings including the transmission and chassis numbers are shown in the gallery.
