The Ultimate Guide to the Pagani Zonda F
PAGANI ZONDA F – BUILDING PRESTIGE THROUGH PERFORMANCE
Six years after the its first Zonda model hit the road, Pagani introduced the world to its fourth updated version of the car: the Pagani Zonda F. First shown to the world at the 2005 Geneva Motor Show, the “F” was a tribute to Formula 1 legend Juan-Manual Fangio. Associating their new model with the name of one of the greatest drivers in history is a bold move, but Pagani was still trying to make a name for themselves and this kind of attention-grabbing move was in order. Their bold experiment would pay off only if the car was good. And it was.
MORE POWER, MORE PERFORMANCE
Compared to its predecessor, the Zonda S, the Pagani Zonda F had an extensive redesign. The Carbon-ceramic brakes were now optional. The Italian carmaker also integrated a new type of carbon fibre into the crash structure to improve rigidity. It also happens to be lighter than the previous unit. Like the 2002 revamped Zonda S 7.3, the F used a gigantic 7,291-cc V12. Designed and constructed by Mercedes, it produced 594 bhp and 561 lb-ft of torque in this configuration – slight improvements over the Zonda S’s engine. Because this was one of the lightest supercars on sale at the time at around 1225 kgs, its performance was simply incredible.

NEW LOOK
The updates continued onto the outside of the car as well. There were now three instead of two headlights, making it easily distinguishable from the preceding models. The front fascia also received a slight new look, and a new rear spoiler was installed. While it was still instantly recognizable as a Pagani Zonda, the new design served to modernize the car, bringing the original 90s design into the 2000s.
CONCLUSION
From 2005 to 2009, Pagani built just 25 Zonda Fs, together with 25 roadster versions of the F. At around £450,000, the F would be considered a bargain in today’s insane hypercar market where the new Pagani Huayra goes for over £1 million, but that was still quite a lot of money back in 2005. It’s hard to believe that the Zonda F is nearly 15 years old, but it remains one of the most exotic and highly sought-after supercars in the world.
