The stunning Bentley Speed 8 dominated the 24hrs of Le Mans in 2003, finishing in first and second place, seven laps ahead of its competitors. So, when Autocar was invited to drive it at the Anglesey circuit, Steve Sutcliffe was hardly going to say no.
With a turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 it has 615bhp, weighs just 900kg and is geared to hit 97mph in first gear. Even with used racing slicks and a polite warning from Bentley to be careful, it’s breathtakingly fast.
