Monday Drool – A Spacious Spirit from Rolls-Royce

In our model article ,we referred to the Rolls-Royce Ghost as the everyday Rolls; the car you take out for errands, leaving the Phantom in the garage for special occasions. For sale today is a 2018 Ghost that features the EWB, or extended wheelbase, package. This allows for 17 additional centimetres of rear legroom, enough to allow for a nice, comfortable nap on your way to the shops. Or, put the picnic tables down and have a light lunch while you take in a show on the built-in monitors. No matter what you choose to do, there will be plenty of space to do it in.

All of that space and luxury means this is a ponderous car, even though it is the baby Rolls. Not to worry, though, as the 563-bhp, 6.6-litre V12 produces 575 lb-ft of torque from way down at 1,500 rpm, meaning the car never feels slow. The zero to 62 mph run takes just 4.8 seconds, while the top speed is electronically limited to 155 mph. A Phantom -style adaptive suspension ensures that the car remains level at all times. In 2014, the Ghost was given a light refresh, resulting in what Rolls refers to as the Series II Ghost. That means that this model will sport the revised suspension tuning, new steering rack, and refreshed styling.

This particular Rolls-Royce Ghost is offered for sale at Rybrook Rolls-Royce in Birmingham. Here are some of the features they list for this model:

  • Drivers Assistance Systems Three
  • Rear Theatre Configuration
  • Rolls-Royce Bespoke Audio
  • Individual Seat Configuration
  • 21″ 10 Spoke Part Polished Forged Alloy Wheels
  • Panorama Glass Roof
  • RR Monogram to all Headrests
  • Chromed Visible Exhausts
  • Camera System (Side, Rear & Top View)
  • Lth. – Bespoke Interior Scheme-Module Editing
  • Seat Piping
  • Comfort Entry System
  • Television Tuner
  • Lambswool Footmats

At £269,000, this limo-like Ghost isn’t for the faint of heart. However, with under 1,000 miles on it, it is just getting broken in. And, just look at it. I could examine these pictures all day – they showcase the car’s exceptional build quality, with even the minor details as the window buttons and speakers worthy of study. While this Rolls-Royce Ghost might be the perfect commuter or grocery-getter, I wouldn’t blame anyone for keeping it stashed away for special events.
