Errol Spence Jnr in Horror Ferrari Crash

Boxing star Errol Spence Jnr, a welterweight fighter who remains unbeaten, was lucky to escape with his life from a violent and spectacular crash in his Ferrari. Video shows the car somersaulting several times – the model is not identified in the news reports – after the sportsman crashed, reportedly at high speed, on Riverford Boulevard, Dallas, on Thursday.
Spence Jnr, who was not wearing a seatbelt when his Italian supercar went out of control, was thrown from the vehicle. He was taken to hospital where – initially – he was reported to be in critical condition. It is now known he has no broken bones – a quite remarkable fact – and he has even tweeted about the event, saying “No broken bones, I’m a savage”. We prefer lucky, very lucky indeed.

Drink Driving Charges

Spence Jr, who is 29 years old and has fought 26 times winning each fight, with 21 by knock out, is a reigning double world welterweight champion, and is considered one of the very best pound-for-pound boxers in the world at the moment. The accident happened at 3am, and earlier in the night he had posted a video on social media showing a friend dancing in a local nightclub.

Dallas Police have confirmed that Mr Spence Jnr has been charged with ‘driving while intoxicated’. In a statement to the press, a spokesman explained:

“Mr Spence has been released from the hospital and will need to address those charges. As for getting a speed of the vehicle, we will not be getting one. It was a single car accident with no other criminal charges.”

Driving under the influence is not only dangerous to yourself, but to others. Spence Jnr is lucky that no other drivers were around at the time, which could’ve caused more serious injuries. There are many other forms of distracted driving that lead to incidents like these. Fortunately, in some areas, prevention measures are being put forward to stop distracted driving and therefore accidents. This is particularly prevalent for owners of fleet vehicles who are using high-tech products from companies like Lytx to prevent their drivers from getting distracted and keep them, and the vehicles, safe on the road.

These preventative measures have the ability to save and protect many road users across the country from danger. But the likelihood of accidents occurring again is still very possible. And if there are other people aside from you who find themselves caught up in a collision, as well as getting injured at the same time, they have every right to get in touch with an experienced car accident lawyer in their area, to claim and file for any compensation. This will help them to cover any current and future medical bills, as well as other things that may need paying. But of course, if these accidents can be prevented in the first place, the roads will be a safer place to be, and Spence Jnr is lucky that he hasn’t hurt anyone else in his recklessness.

The state of the Ferrari is unknown, although from the video it would appear that the sheer violence of the accident may have rendered it irreparable.
