Friday Drool – Count Yourself Lucky We Found this Countach

Lamborghini made nearly 2,000 Countaches during the model’s 14-year run. That means that, if you have the means and are really determined, you can still have one of these magnificent monuments to 1980s excess. And, in our current period of overwhelming supercar excess, it could just be the perfect time to pick up one of these beauties. Today, we bring you not just any Lamborghini Countach, however. No, this black right-hand-drive model is in mint condition. If you have been searching for the perfect Countach to either purchase or simply drool over, this is it!

Just 321 Lamborghini Countach LP500 S models were built, starting in 1982. The big news for the model update that year was the engine. Enlarged from 3.9 litres to 4.8, the new powerplant was of course more powerful than before. But not quite as strong as you might think. In fact, its 370 bhp matched that of the original Countach LP400 model that debuted in 1974. Still, the new model, sometimes referred to as the 5000 S, was lightning quick for its time. The specs are listed at 182 for the top speed and just 5.2 seconds to 60 mph.

This 1983 Lamborghini Countach LP500 S is currently available at Kaaimans International in Tollerton. And this is what they have to say about it:

This extremely rare LP5000 S variant is 1 of only 23 RHD UK cars from a total of 321 worldwide. This fine example has only had 1 Owner from new and was originally supplied through Portman Lamborghini and came with the only two available options: Alpine Stereo, Rear Wing. it comes with an extensive history file including Service Invoices, Mot’s, Tax Discs, Ect.

Clearly, this owner knew that these cars are special and drove it – get this – just 139 miles per year since its purchase. That’s right, this 36-year-old car has just 5,000 miles on the odometer. And they appear to have been quite leisurely miles at that. How can we tell? Well, according to the ad and the photos, the car still has the original Vitaloni stickers on the door mirrors, as well as the Campagnolo stickers on the wheels. Whoever is lucky enough to purchase this £449,975 Lambo will know exactly what it was like to buy a Countach brand-new back in the 80s.
